A lifting app that respects your history.
Maxtopia started because every serious lifting app either priced like SaaS, sold data to advertisers, or held your training history hostage behind a subscription that had to keep going forever. We wanted the version that didn't do any of that.
Why we built it
Logging a set should take one tap. Programs should travel between apps. Coaches should be able to charge fair prices without the platform skimming 30%. Nutrition, AI, and sync should be add-ons you buy because they help, not because your training history is being held for ransom.
Nothing about that is radical. It's how software used to work. Maxtopia is a small bet that lifters remember, and that coaches would rather pay $29 a month for a real tool than $79 for a dashboard that also sells their client data.
What we stand for
Free means free
The lifting core is free forever, and it always will be. We make money from Plus and from coaches, not from ads, not from selling data, not from a free trial that quietly expires.
You own your data
Every scrap of your training and nutrition history exports to a portable, CC0-licensed .maxtopia file. Leave whenever, take it with you, and nothing about the leaving is punitive.
Privacy by architecture
HealthKit stays on your device unless you turn on sharing. Coach permissions are enforced in the database, not by hiding a UI panel. AI features are opt-in and quota'd.
Built once, built well
Small team, long horizon. We'd rather ship one perfect logging screen than five half-finished tabs. If a feature is in the app, it works on the first tap.
How it's built
Native apps on iOS and Android, a first-class web client, and a Cloudflare-hosted backend that scales globally without a server room. The whole platform runs on infrastructure that costs pennies per user — which is how we can afford to keep the lifting core free forever.
